Funerals

After several hundred years of walking alongside people in their grief and laying their loved ones to rest, we know only too well how devestating death can be. Uniquely amongst many funeral professionals, we also believe that our final goodbyes are never truly final, allowing us to create authentic space in which celebrating life and processing raw emotions are not mutually exclusive.

Everyone who lives in Workington has a right to have their funeral conducted in either St Michael's or St John's. At the same time, we know that every funeral is as individual as the life of each person being remembered. We pride ourselves on providing the same level of care and dignity for each person we commend to God's eternal care, regardless of their background, status, circumstance, whether they confessed the Christian faith, or whether their faith was known to God alone.

If you have recently been bereaved and wish to arrange a funeral in either of our churches, please speak to your funeral director who will liaise with us to make the necessary arrangements. If you would like pastoral support, please contact the Rector, Fr Ben Thompson, using the detail's at the bottom of the page.
